Our School Tour

Yesterday, June 23rd, was our school tour.

We got onto the bus at eight o'clock. It took a long time to get to Limerick. First we went to the Carambola factory. We saw our lunches being made there. We had to put on white hats and coats for health and safety reasons. At the end of the tour we were given our lunches. We were given a pencil, a balloon and a ruler each. When we were getting on to the bus Cara and Bola came to wave us off. We had a great time there.

The next place we went to was Bunratty Castle and Folk Park. Our guide for the tour of the castle was Elizabeth. She showed us around the castle. Then we went off in groups to have a look around. We saw the 'murder hole', the 'spy holes' , the trapdoor and the 'ladies' window'. The stairs were very narrow. After that we saw the old houses in the Folk Park. There was a very smokey smell inside the houses. We then went to the old school house. I would not liked to have gone to school there. We had a look at an old hardware shop. We saw a black and white wolfhound. Then we went to the gift shop.

Next stop was Craggaunowen. We went into the castle and our guide Olivia told us how things were used like a turtle's shell for plates! Then we went to the crannogs to see the old houses. We saw a souterrain in an iron age fort for the children to escape from danger. We also saw a canoe & a road dug out from Longford they were about 2,500 years old!We also saw Tim Severin's boat & we saw some wild boar too!
