Limericks

There once was a young man from Mayo
Who nobody wanted to know
He brought bad luck
And always got stuck
Especially during the snow

There once was a girl from Athy
Who got a bug stuck in her eye
She went to the doc
Who gave her a shock
And then the girl started to cry

There once lived a dog in Tralee
Who got stung by a big bee
He opened his mouth
And let out a shout
And he was heard in Chile.
by Aiden Mullally 6th class

There was a young man from Chad
He ended out very sad
He prayed like a monk
On the top bunk
Because he was very, very bad.
by Nathan Maher, Fourth Class

There was a young man from Clare
Who dreamt he flew up in the air.
He jumped on a plane
Which took him to Spain
And no-one knew how he got there.

There was a tall girl from Spain
Who thought she was going insane.
She went out to sea
And got stung by a bee,
And never went back there again.

There was a young man from Chad
And a compass was all that he had.
So he travelled East
And then slayed a beast
But after killing it, he felt rather bad.

My Last School Tour

On the 23rd of June I woke up at quarter past 7 and ate my breakfast. I went down to Londis to get my lunch. I went to school and then I got on to the bus.
I was sitting in the back. We went to Limerick to see Carambola. We got to see where they make the the lunches.
Then we went to Bunratty Castle and Bunratty Folk Park. We went to an old street and an old  school. We went to Craggaunowen. We saw bronze age houses and a Fulacht Fhia ana a Crannóg. When we were going two ponies broke out of the field. My favorite part of the tour was Craggaunowen.
The journey home was long.
I was tired after the tour.

Our School Tour

Yesterday, June 23rd, was our school tour.

We got onto the bus at eight o'clock. It took a long time to get to Limerick. First we went to the Carambola factory. We saw our lunches being made there. We had to put on white hats and coats for health and safety reasons. At the end of the tour we were given our lunches. We were given a pencil, a balloon and a ruler each. When we were getting on to the bus Cara and Bola came to wave us off. We had a great time there.
by Claire Egan, 4th Class

The next place we went to was Bunratty Castle and Folk Park. Our guide for the tour of the castle was Elizabeth. She showed us around the castle. Then we went off in groups to have a look around. We saw the 'murder hole', the 'spy holes' , the trapdoor and the 'ladies' window'. The stairs were very narrow. After that we saw the old houses in the Folk Park. There was a very smokey smell inside the houses. We then went to the old school house. I would not liked to have gone to school there. We had a look at an old hardware shop. We saw a black and white wolfhound. Then we went to the gift shop.
by Cormac Maher, 4th Class.

Next stop was Craggaunowen. We went into the castle and our guide Olivia told us how things were used like a turtle's shell for plates! Then we went to the crannogs to see the old houses. We saw a souterrain in an iron age fort for the children to escape from danger. We also saw a canoe & a road dug out from Longford they were about 2,500 years old!We also saw Tim Severin's boat & we saw some wild boar too!
by Caoimhe Ivors,4th class.

Beside Bunratty Castle is Folk Park.Folk Park isold houses. The smell in the housesare treacherous because of the turf fires in the houses. We saw a old plow and a cart that horses pulled. We saw two irish wolf hounds they were really big. After that we went to the gift shop I bought a yellow pencil and a mood pen with sheep on it.

When I am 18

When I am 18 I want to be a chef. Instead of having to pay for college I will join the army and get my chef cert for free. I would like to join the army because I would like to help my country and I would like to be a chef. I would like to grow up to be like the kitchen hero because he believes in the taste not the look of his food.

When I am 18

When I am 18 it will be 2017. I want to be studying performing arts in Cork. When I am finished my degree I want to have my own Dance School in Kilkenny and my own car.I would like that because I love Dancing.:)

She was greeted by  Brendan Howlin Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform. She was transported to the entrance gate in a classic looking car that looked like a vintage Mercedes. She met all of the staff of the Rock of Cashel and some of the Cashel Secondary School students. Saoirse Fitzgerald from the Cashel Secondary School presented the Queen with a bouquet of flowers. Primary Games Football!

On the 5th of April I went to New Inn to represent my school at the Primary Games Football Trials. There were 62 children trying their hardest to impress the selectors. There were three teams of 15 made before the day but some people didn't turn up on time,so we had to make do. I was on the first team. There were some people I know from soccer and hurling. My team was the first team to play. We had 15 players so did the other team. The third team had to play the first team we played. Some of our team had to go with that team because they didn't have enough players. Two teams played two matches and one team had to play three matches. I enjoyed the time there and I represented my school well.

Poem Irish Election Day 25/2/2011

Today is the Irish Election Day
Where the Irish Government was in disarray
The country is in trouble cause the clown Brian Cowen
Turned the country up-side-down

Many people like to vote
They decide from canvasser's quotes
Some are good and some are bad
Fianna Fáil we already had

Kenny's seat is looming large
But Eamon Gilmore is ready to charge
Martin and Adam going slow
But it's up to you to say who's to go.
